Vegvisir

The vegvísir is a symbol that was said to help explorers find their way home through the rough and harsh weather. Looking at the symbol it's quite obvious, as it very much looks like a compass with the cardinal and intercardinal directions. This symbol is often referred to as a viking symbol or a viking compass. but there is no evidence of this. The Huld Manuscript - where this symbol is mentioned - was collected eight centuries after the end of the viking era.
