So we have been taken it a little easy the last three years. Covid would be one big reason, but we also needed to take a little time-out, as doing this takes a great portion of our spare time. Tronds and his family bought a cabin which needed some restoration, plus he bought a vintage Citroen he likes to spend some time working on. Sølve has become a father for the first time, and myself I have been quite occupied with the toddler era. That said we are slowly getting back on the horse. We've also invested in printing gear, which mean we should become a tad more versatile since we can do some prining ourselves.
We've recently gotten our hands on a batch og Gaahls Wyrd, Trelldom and Alfahanne hoodies which is now available in our store. We've also added The Sewergrooves and Year Of The Goat to our music page. Go have a read and a listen if you feel like. Great bands!
We would also like to thank all of our friends, collaborating bands and OUR CUSTOMERS for all the support! Without you there would be no Norwegian Rat! Thank you for supporting nano companies! Means a whole lot to us!

Just like in the two last posts, there's a lot going on. Not too many new band collaborations this time around, but we have joined forces with VLTIMAS and ULVER (facebook page here ). You can listen and read more about these bands on our music page. Great bands and super people to work with! Needless to say we are really looking forward to these collaborations! (Denim jackets coming in late January / early February)
We're also working on new products. Not sure when they will available, but as it's clothing made for harsher weather conditions we will most likely try to have them ready for fall / winter 2019.
Another pretty awesome thing that has happened is that Kristian "Gaahl" Espedal of Gaahls Wyrd (ex-Gorgoroth and ex-Wardruna amongst other bands) has pretty much got our entire collection available for sale in his "Galleri Fjalar"! So if you happen to find yourself at Bryggen (Bryggen 37 2nd floor, or 1st floor if we're going completely English) in Bergen, make sure you pay this awesome place a visit. Lots of interesting things to see (and buy) in this gallery!
See you all next year!

Just like in the previous post, there's a lot going on at the moment. We have been pretty occupied with lots of new band collaborations. You will soon find our Halvdan Svarte denim jackets in band editions of: GLUECIFER, THE NOMADS, BOKASSA, THE STROLLERS, and THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE ZUGLY.
We have also been very busy with our new company RHINORAT RECORDINGS. We have teamed up with BLACK RHINO MUSIC and ASK FILM to give artist we like the opportunity to give out high quality vinyl (and other format) releases. We'll do another post regarding this in not long, but in short we will try to do the NR-approach. (You can read about our approach to the collaborations we're doing here: WHAT'S THIS ABOUT? MUSIC PLAYER)
Stay tuned for more info!
There's a lot going on at the moment. We have been pretty occopied with lots of new band collaborations. We have added GÅTE, AURA NOIR, BARDSPEC, BY NORSE, HADES ALMIGHTY, JAGGED VISION, and SASSY KRAIMSPRI to our music page, which by the way have had a major overhaul. Now it dosen't take forever loading the page with a zillion iframes requests from soundcloud and youtube, as we have added our own media player.
We have been working on our 1349 jeans and it is now available in our store. A whole lot is enhanced on it, plus it got artwork by the magnificent Anders Røkkum on the inside.
We're also working on a new jacket. This time it's going to be a windbreaker, and it's called "Hraesvelgr". Stay tuned for more info.
This year we are attending the Midgardsblot festival. We will bring merch of all bands we have a collaboration with, so if you're around feel free to drop by for some merch, or just a chat. See you there!
Congratulations to the winners of our annual "Easter Puzzles". A huge thank you goes out to all of you who joined and made it exiting! Hope to see you next year as well! (If you're bored and want to practice for 2018, you can have a go at it here: Contest page
We are currently in the process of enhancing our 1349 slimfit jeans for both male and female, and we are getting closer and closer to perfection! Fabric feels great, enhancements looks great, and shape and fitting feels great! We have a few dedicated customers wearing our samples, and so far they are supersatisfied! A few more months now, and we will see how our jeans withstand daily rough-housing over a significant time period! Here's a few pictures of the samples. We are particularly satisfied with the new back patch! (You can have a look at our former 1349 here: Male / Female
We're pretty stoked to say we are featured in a Spanish magazine called This Is Rock Magazine. First magazine we've ever been in! Pretty rad! We have always liked Spain!
Our older history is paramount to us when making new pieces. After a few years with teething issues, we now feel we're really on to how we wish to present our concept. Recently we recieved our denim jackets with the art of Jannicke Wiese-Hansen and Dagfinn Bjelland, and we are really satisfied with the result of this collaboration. We therefore take aim to keep on doing this for our future products as well with others artist throughout the world. Making prints to all the names and stories we present takes it all to a whole new level in our eyes. We are therefore pleased to announce that we have a collaboration going with the talented Anders Rockum. The first picture is a sneak peek of the print that is to be found in a future product. Stay tuned!
Finally the long-awaited jackets have arrived. Here's the Kampfar edition. We have also got a new collaboration tee with print made by the magnificent tattoo artist Tim Lehi.
A few pictures of the new denim jackets we're awaiting. One is named "Naglfar" and the other one is called "Halvdan Svarte". Inside print is made by Dagfinn Bjelland from Karma Tattoo in Haugesund og Jannicke Wiese-Hansen from Nidhogg Tattoo i. Bergen.
Kampfar is nominated for the best metal album in 2015 by the Norwegian Grammy awards! On this occasion we have decided to throw a straightforward contest where you can win a Kampfar hoodie. Read more here!
BLEKKMETAL asked us if we wanted to join in on the merch, which of course we certainly wanted! And here is the result!
We've added the band Slegest to our music page. Slegest plays heavy, tough metal rock'n'roll accompanied by fierce riffs and a harsh vocal, wich adds a little darkness to it all. Slegest is a solo project created by Ese who previously played the guitar in Vreid. Ese had a desire to play Black Sabbath inspired music with a grim vokal. The debut "Løyndom" came out in October 2013 to great reviews. Almost simultaneously he found musicians who could join him on stage, so Slegest were able to do live shows. Absolutely worth a listen, because this is a band with strong tunes and some pretty panzer riffs! (Photo nr.2 by av Orjan Talle and Havard Nesbo)
We now have the black t - shirts for children aged 4-12 years! Since kids come in all shapes you might want to go a year or two up to be on the safe side if you're uncertain about the size. That way you don't end up with a shirts that is too small =)
Here's a link to the promo video we made to mark the collaboration we got with the band Einherjer from Haugesund, Norway. Great music and great lads! They're also nominated for the Norwegian grammy "Spellemansprisen" for their latest album "Av oss, for oss" (2014). You can have a look at it here: YouTube
The t-shirts we have made in collaboration with Einherjer have finally arrived! You will be able to buy these on their mini tour this weekend. Starting in Oslo at Blaa on the 13'th, then Sandnes at Tribute on the 14'th and finally Bergen at Garage on the 15'th. Oh and by the way! If you're able to go you should definitely also check out their support band Slegest, wich is pretty groovy stuff!
Due to some unexpected circumstances, we suddenly found ourselves on the front row of Stavanger Fashion Night. Frode Goa and his clothing brand Kant were in need of some black jeans, and our good friend Martin Mentzoni recommended us. So we made a deal with Frode, and sent him some jeans at his disposal. Luckily, the sizes were perfect for his models, and it was a delight sitting on the front row watching our 1349 jeans, one by one, entering the stage. Unexpectedly, but excitingly, they appeared in a shorter version too! Later we learned that it was the brillinant designer Leila Hafzi who had modified the jeans! We're quite thrilled about that. A huge thanks goes out to photographer Julie Vold for letting us use the pictures she took that evening. It's greatly appreciated!
That's right! You can now award yourself with a piece of Rat after you're done with your tattoo session!
Karma Tattoo in Haugesund (Norway) is the second store to stock clothes from Norwegian Rat. Karma Tattoo was established in the year 2000, and the shop is runned by three individuals. The very talented tattoo artist; Renathe. Piercer, gentleman farmer, motorcycle enthusiast/builder and founder of Hicks Syndicate; Gert. And finally, chief in command and tattoo artist; Dagfinn.
"Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good"
Finally a new batch of tees arrived! Along the original t-shirts, we also included a brand new one, which is a collaboration with the band Kampfar. This specific shirt is a limitied edition and counts only 165 pieces. To mark this collaboration we made a music video featuring the song "Swarm Norvegicus" from their critically acclaimed album "Djevelmakt", released earlier this year.
You can watch the video here: YouTube: Kampfar - Swarm Norvegicus
Our 1349 jeans live and direct on stage! How friggin' cool is that?!
A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to David and "King Giant" for letting us use one of their many panzer tunes. If you like some southern stoner rock, you'll love these guys!

We have uploaded a few videos of "Hold Fast" and "Drink Your Poison" from the lauch party we had last Friday. You can see for yourself how successful the evening was! Thanx to both bands, Folken, Fredrik Sele, Erik Furulund and last but not least all of you who showed up and turned the evening into a mayhem Stavanger hasn't seen since 872!
You can watch the videos here: Norwegian Rat's YouTube Channel
On the 29th November Norwegian Rat will throw its launch party in Grottene, Folken (Stavanger). Everyone with a good taste for music and good company are invited. Clothes from NR will be available for trying and buying, or you can just hang out and watch the concerts.
The bands «Hold Fast» and «Drink Your Poison» will join the party and their set times will be adjusted so that all concerts in Folken that day can be seen by everybody. The whole event is open for all and wont cost you more than the calories you burn walking up to Folken!
The festivities will start at 8 pm until late.
Here's a little video we made with some "behind the scenes" stuff, as well as the actual pictures we use in our official promotion. Thanx to Mattias and Numbah Ten for lending us an absolutely fantastic track for the video. Be sure to check them out if you like what you hear! (You'll find them in our "Music" section)
You can watch the videos here: Norwegian Rat ft. Numbah Ten (YouTube)
A huge thanks goes out to Steffen, Fredrik, Maria, Helene, Joanna, and last but not least, photographer Espen Mills for an absolutely fantastic shoot in Hunnedalen. Despite constant drizzle, we had a blast and ended up with some spectacular shots! Here are some pictures for you all.
New samples on their way! Hopefully they’re locked, loaded and fit for fight this time around!
“Another day at the office” and a new batch of samples! Since we're particularly picky about our clothes, minor improvements have to be done. However, we are very close to be completely satisfied! Stay tuned!
The picture pretty much says it all. (For you car enthusiasts, it's a SECMA).
Finally we have recieved our "Rattus Plectrus"!
Where are we today? Testing, testing, testing. We are getting closer and closer to perfect prototypes of products that will become a complete outfit for both genders.
Theodore Ratatosk. The rat has been born.
