Harald—the author of this book—was kind enough to let us sell his book in our store. As a nice gesture, he also signed a few of them, and they're all differently signed! (The signed ones are now gone)
Norway in the late 80s: Young people started playing extreme metal, inspired by role-playing games and horror films. Through letter writing and the exchange of home-crafted cassettes and fanzines, the environment gained further nourishment, and loners in small places around Norway found inspiration and acceptance in the worldwide underground for their first, groping attempts. When the Olympics in Lillehammer went off in 1994, Norwegian black metal had become world-renowned - and infamous. Since then, the once frowned-upon and hated genre has become popular - and a national treasure. Join us back to the roots and get to know the story, told by some of the most trend-setting artists in what is now called True Norwegian Black Metal.
First released in 2016. This is the revised version, with artwork by Jannicke Wiese Hansen (who also made the inside art in our Naglfar denim jacket).
